The year two thousand and two brought professional wrestling a many historical moments. Two thousand and two brought forth the New World Order in WWE, the classic bout between The Rock and Hollywood Hogan at the eighteenth installment of WrestleMania, Undertaker improving his WrestleMania record to 10-0, Monday Night Raw and then-Thursday Night SmackDown being split into two brands, the arrival of Brock Lesnar, Impact Wrestling getting its start as NWA: TNA, and most importantly, Ivelisse Velez breaking into professional wrestling.
The year two thousand and eleven brought even more history, moreso to the WWE when John Cena became a ten time WWE Champion, CM Punk shocked the entire world with his pipebomb and ascended to superstardom, and Ivelisse was signed to the company’s developmental territory. In the entire nine months that she was with the WWE, Ivelisse made a name for herself as the “Anti-Diva.”
The year two thousand and twelve was historic in a good sense that the Undertaker improved his record at WrestleMania to 20-0, CM Punk was in the midst of his 434 days as WWE Champion, and Brock Lesnar made his return to the company after an eight year absence. It was historic in a bad sense that just as she was gaining traction in FCW which was rebranded as NXT toward the end of her run with the company, the contract of Ivelisse was terminated due to her reporting Bill DeMott for harassment.
The WWE wrongfully terminating her contract royally pissed Ivelisse off. She was pissed, she was incensed, she was volatile (though her being volatile is normal, but more so in this case), and it made her hungry. She was smart enough to use all of that anger and pent-up rage, and make something out of herself on the independent circuit.
The year two thousand and fifteen brought forth Seth Rollins being the first man to cash in at WrestleMania, the Undertaker having more than one match on PPV (a first since two thousand and eleven), and more importantly, Ivelisse became one third of the inaugural Trios Champions alongside Angelico and Son of Havoc in Lucha Underground.
Now, it is two thousand and seventeen where season three of of the hit show Lucha Underground has wrapped up. The match at Ultima Lucha Tres between Ivelisse and Catrina was the highest built match of the entire season, and in the end Catrina fell, just like everyone else does when they face the Baddest Bitch in the Building.
With the popularity that she has been enjoying in the five years since the termination of her contract with World Wrestling Entertainment, Ivelisse was called up by her former employer, desperately wanting to re-sign her to the company. The company bent over backward, willing to give Ivelisse anything and everything she wants in order to get her to sign another contract with them.
Now, World Wrestling Entertainment has signed the Baddest Bitch in the Building to a contract and she starts performing on the upcoming inaugural edition of Monday Night Raw. Her first opponent is the Black Widow who is the second longest-reigning Divas Champion in the entire history of World Wrestling Entertainment. The person opposing Ivelisse Velez is none other than AJ Lee. With both women making their returns to World Wrestling Entertainment on the same night in opposition of each other, one has to wonder. Who will emerge triumphant from this match? Will the Black Widow’s bite be enough to do away with Ivelisse or will Ivelisse prove her ‘Baddest Bitch in the Building’ moniker by squashing the Black Widow also known as AJ Lee like a bug on a windshield?
It is seven thirty in evening, a half an hour before showtime, and the kickoff show for the very first edition of Monday Night Raw under the WWE Resurgence banner is under way.“Welcome to the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia...”
Byron Saxton is heard saying. “Where tonight at the top of the eight o clock hour, we witness history as the inaugural edition of Monday Night Raw under the WWE Resurgence banner will air live. With this being the inaugural edition of Monday Night Raw, we have a great show lined up. Tonight’s show is highlighted by matches pitting Alexa Bliss against Nikki Bella and Seth Rollins against Finn Balor.” “Another highlight for tonight…”
Tom Phillips begins. “is the return of AJ Lee to in-ring competition after being retired for two and a half years. She will be taking on the returning, or in this case, debuting Ivelisse Velez. Now, while the two main events are more than enough to get viewers to tune into our show tonight, the match between Ivelisse and AJ Lee is one that I’m most interested in.” “Two and a half years after retiring due to spinal injuries, AJ Lee returns to the ring, and against the returning Ivelisse no less.”
Corey Graves is heard saying. “One has to wonder how well AJ will fare against the Baddest Bitch in the Building. I’ve watched Ivelisse’s matches and I have a grasp of what she’s capable of. She’s stiff, brutal, and she’ll do anything to win even if it means that AJ Lee winds up in a wheelchair. With AJ’s history of spinal problems, I honestly don’t that she’ll be able to get past Ivelisse, who is like a shark smelling blood when someone has a weakness.”
The camera cuts from the broadcast booth to the backstage area, and standing right there in front of the camera in all her glory is none other than the Baddest Bitch in the Building, Ivelisse. Ivelisse is clad in a pair of black tights with holes in the pant legs, a black top, a black leather jacket, and a red bandana that is covering the bottom half of her face. Upon her image being broadcast on the titantron, the crowd in the arena immediately begins cheering and chanting her name.“The Baddest Bitch in the Building is back in the WWE…”
Ivelisse says as the crowd cheers. “Who woulda thought that they’d ever see me back here in the WWE? I mean, if you told me five years ago after I got fired from here the first time that I’d be back here and on Monday Night Raw, I’d say you’re more loco than AJ Lee is if she shows up tonight.” “So, let me get this straight…”
Ivelisse begins. “AJ Lee thinks that after two and a half years away from the ring that she can roll up on me? Coño, now I’m starting to think that she’s not crazy, but estúpido. AJ, I’ve seen your matches. I’ve seen what you can do. I’ve seen your triumphs and your tribulations. I gotta say that you don’t impress me one bit.” “You held a championship for two hundred and ninety five days, big frickin’ deal.”
Ivelisse says while furrowing her brow. “Come back to me when you held a title for a full calendar year like I did.” “People like to talk about how impressed they are when it comes to your agility and your ability.”
Ivelisse says as she shakes her head. “Well, if they’re impressed by your acrobatics, then they set their bar lower than the dirt. When we enter that ring tonight, you gonna out-classed by me because I’m stronger than you, I’m faster than you, I’m hungrier than you, and my pinky toe has more agility in it than you do in your entire body. Simply put, I’m just better than you.” “Tonight, you’re gonna learn a painful lesson in staying away when you’re retired, because I know all of your weaknesses especially your spinal problems. If you decide to show up for our match, and you decide to step up to me, I’ll stomp the mierda outta you. I’m gonna kick your skinny little chihuahua ass so hard that you won’t sit right for a month.”
Ivelisse looks up at the clock. “You see that clock up there?”
The cameraman raises the camera and focuses on the clock. “You see that second hand ticking away? Seconds turn to minutes. Minutes turn to hours. Hours turn to days. Days turn to weeks. Weeks turn to years. Why am I saying this, you’re asking yourself. It’s because you don’t have days, weeks, months, or years when it comes to your being out of retirement. In this moment, keep your eye on the second hand. For each time that second hand hits the twelve, the minute hand moves. Once the minute hand hits the twelve and it’s eight o clock, your time is up.” “When the clock strikes eight and the time comes for our match, all you’ll be is just a stepping stone on my way to the Women’s Championship.”
